  1. Hi all, Just a brief update to let u know that there seems to be the same disagreement here than outside. Everybody says it's old but the kind of sword and author are still a complete mistery yet. I'll keep researching. Thanks all for your help! Regards
  2. Hi all, I live in Madrid nice to meet Spaniards abroad About the pictures, don't exactly know what part is that from the sword Jean, could you show me a similar picture? I'll be traveling a while, but will see what I can do when I'm back, Thx! Regards!
  3. Unbelievable discussion. I guess the 1st lesson in Nihon-to is, any sword is subject to unlimited discussion? That's what probably makes it so interesting! So if I understand correctly, most people's opinion is changing from Nagamaki Naoshi to shortened (or ubu) katana/Tachi in shobu zukuri?? (did I say that?). Sorry, it is too much material to digest... :?
  4. If you find it educational, imagine myself Thanks all, lots of terabytes to digest!
  5. Thanks John, I live in Madrid, Spain; yes, help would be very appreciated,
  6. Hi John, can you explain to me what I can do to clean it properly; you may have explained it in the other forum but it has been down for some hours now and I missed it. Thanks, Unbelievable sunday evening!!
  7. Ok, that was very impressive, thank you very much!! so basically, a blade 600-700 y.o. and a the rest, either 19th or early 20th century!! Fascinating! Regards!
  8. Hi there, This is my first message here, and this is the second forum I'm visiting hoping for some help. I come from Spain and have inherited a very beautiful Japanese Sword, together with a picture. A relative of mine was Ambassador in Japan and got it from Emperor Hirohito together with his picture signed in Japanese (no idea what the signature means) around 40 years ago. Is there anybody here who could give me some help and tell me what kind of sword is it, or who can I talk to in order to know more? Also if I would think about selling it, what is the best place where to do it? You can check it here (forget the first 6 pictures, they are different stuff): https://picasaweb.google.com/contreras. ... zH0vaArwE# Thank you very much.
