It is well-balanced and has as strong form and shape for cutting. It features several kirikomi scars from battle on the mune. The jihada is well-forged, tight and healthy, in a fine ko-itame, with pale utsuri. The boshi is fully intact, in the "kaen" or "head on fire" shape. It has retained its kaeri "turn backs" and is in its original shape. MEI: Signed with eight characters: "Bishu Mihara-ju Masachika Saku." His real name was Kuroda Sukeroku. Koshirae: Antique koshirae with metal fittings, menuki: millet, kozuka: chrysanthemums, tsuba: iron openwork insect and antler motif. Note- this koshirae does not have a kogatana for the kozuka.
