Bottom of tsuka probably serial number maybe name?

a GUNTO WAKIZASHI? That must be quite rare! 

The KANJI on the TOP end of the TSUKA are from the craftsmen who made it. Usually, they are not related to the smith. Unfortunately, I can't help with reading.

Not helping Matt but just for information I have both Kai gunto and Shingunto with older wakizashi blades.  Is that what we have here?

Unfortunately the sword is stuck in Japan since Japan Post won't ship to Canada while Canada Post is on strike, anyway, here is a picture from the auction. total length is 67cm
