Conway S Posted June 16, 2024 Report Posted June 16, 2024 Came across this listing from an often discussed dealer on the forum and thought to myself that it looked familiar. Just realized it was recently sold by another dealer on eBay and then the saya was repainted by the current seller. The seller also appears to have tried to clear up some of the corrosion on the blade too. No wonder why I see so many NCO swords "sold" and then re-listed by this seller. Maybe once the buyers have them in-hand, they realize something doesn't look right. Suffice to say this early NCO would have been best left alone even with the black painted saya. Original Listing: RARE WW2 Japanese NCO OFFICERS SWORD matching numbers on blade & SCABBARD Current Listing: Japanese Army NCO sword in type 95 mountings, matching number Conway 2 Quote

PNSSHOGUN Posted June 16, 2024 Report Posted June 16, 2024 To be clear, the original seller is one of the rare good guys on ebay. 4 Quote
John C Posted June 16, 2024 Report Posted June 16, 2024 I guess he's confident it will go for at least what he paid - but not so far. John C. Quote
Bruce Pennington Posted June 17, 2024 Report Posted June 17, 2024 I thought Jewelry&coin and Showa22 were the same guy. Quote

Jewelery and Coin often get tables at the Chicago and Orlando shows. Great guys to deal with. I have bought from them on and off eBay and traded with them, in person. I have heard it mentioned that Showa22 and The Samurai Monkey 24 are the same person. <-- not sure if that is true. Quote

My personal experiences with them are as follows: For the past 23 years, I have been acquainted with Showa22. While I have always maintained a cordial relationship with him, I must acknowledge that his information is not always accurate or reliable. He often presents misleading information, despite his generally good intentions. In my experience, Jewlery&Coin has consistently been challenging to engage with, communicate about products, or inquire about. Additionally, Jewlery&Coin has consistently been priced substantially above the fair market value of the products they sell. 1 Quote
Jon L Posted Wednesday at 01:48 AM Report Posted Wednesday at 01:48 AM Late to the party here and it looks like both the original listings have been removed from eBay. But my first thought was Showa22 lol. Jon Quote
