December issue of Living National Treasures

Recommended Posts

Please excuse posting this here, but I didn't want to upstage Carlo with his important post in GND....

Anyway, today I received, from my parents-in-law, my annual big variety box of Pocky sticks (big vice of mine mainly due to the Pocky Girls.. Damn marketing machine!!!)

Lo and behold buried in the bottom of the box was December issue of Living National Treasures... Nihonto edition. Ver nice little magazine I might add.... probably still on the shelves for our Nihon based members....

Magazine details modern day smiths such as AKITSUGU, SADATSUGU, SADAICHI, MASAMINE, MITSUMASA.....

Anyway what a nice suprise and now breaking all copyright, I will put a couple of pictures up here.... (I'm trying to sell their magazine right??? They should be pleased with me!!)

That's a weekly magazine. I'll go take a look at bookstores today and see if it's still on the shelf.

while you are at it, can you check this book too?

Okay folks. Just returned from Maruzen bookstore in Tokyo station with a copy of "Living National Treasures". They stocked back numbers so Tokyo NMB members can purchase without a hassle. It's a weekly series scheduled to print 70 issues and this one was the 28th dedicated to the Japanese swordsmith with Amada-san on the cover. Each issue's topics varies from Japanese tea, Kabuki, noh, pottery, music, etc. The cover price is 560 yen with a wafer thin 32 pages. The publisher's home page is http://opendoors.asahi.com

I want my money back :(
