your opinion about the sword please

i'd appreciate to get general opinion about this sword and especially about hamon - can it be THAT active? Also kissaki looks kind of strange..(maybe just because of angle of pic)

regulations were regulations - army issue swords were only kyu-gunto, thus nakago....

its a old koto blade fitted for the Dmounts, the bade looks good to me. not to be too upset with the nakago I've seen may fit like that. Often the blade gets put into shirasaya, and then you'll see the osuriage and never have know about the rat tail.

I wouldn't go all Gung ho on this being Koto. There's every chance that it is Shin Shinto!. Notice the Hada! I'm not saying it's not Koto, but without holding it in my hands and checking it out for myself, I wouldn't be too hasty.
