sword_guy Posted August 9, 2022 Report Posted August 9, 2022 I recently came across the ebay seller sakura_antiques who seems to have some good items and claims to be from Japan. However it seems suspicious that none of the items I have seen are papered. Has anyone dealt with this seller in the past? Is he legitimate? Quote
Alex A Posted August 11, 2022 Report Posted August 11, 2022 Some dealers only sell items without papers, take the Lanes Armoury in the UK as an example. Rarely you see a papered blade. Nothing wrong with that as long as the write-up does not mislead. As in Talking about a blade being genuine when its obviously not. In Ebay, always be wary, even with papered blades. Also, assume non papered blades on Ebay, from Japan especially, to have failed Shinsa. Still, not every blade needs papers. Hope that helps. Quote
Sansei Posted August 11, 2022 Report Posted August 11, 2022 Good to be familiar with what the papering involves: https://new.uniquejapan.com/nbthk-nihon-bijutsu-token-hozon-kyokai-certification-paper-ranking/ Quote
