Gimei Masahiro?

Okan

Recommended Posts

Don't know why no one has helped out with this one, Okan!  There are a few oshigata examples on this Japaneseswordindex page, you might try making a collage of them side by side to check.  But as a rookie, myself, on mei, I seem to find variations on even recognized legit mei.

Hopefully someone skilled at this will help soon.

河内守藤原正廣作

Kawachi-no-kami Fujiwara Masahiro saku

Made by Fujiwara Masahiro, Lord of Kawachi (province)

Oops, did you want opinions on the authenticity of the mei, or did you want it translated? If you were looking for the former, you'll need to post actual pictures of the blade itself, as its relatively easy to copy a mei, but its very difficult to copy the exact style of hamon and steel that a smith used. (And even with good close-up photos of the blade, it can be tricky to authenticate over the internet).
