NBTHK Hozon 2009 and Kanzan Sayagaki to Ko-Fujishima

Nanbokucho Period (1300s)

KIRIKOMI battle scar, where an opponent's blade cut through the original owner's tsuka

Kamakura Sugata with Ko-Kissaki, big size and deep sori

2.8CM Sori (deep curvature)

3.05CM Motohaba (w. Funbari)

6.8MM Motokasane

16MM Sakikasane (Ko-Kissaki)

Ko-Kissaki w. Yakizume boshi (fully intact and original)

Itame-Masame hada, with O-hada; dark steel, indicative of Kaga province
 

Kanzan sayagaki reads:

古藤島

Ko-Fujishima

但大磨上無銘也

It is osuriage and mumei

南北朝期傑之一

A master work from the Nanbokucho period

刃長貳尺五寸二分有之

The blade’s length is 2-shaku, 5-sun (76CM)

昭和庚戌年初冬吉日

Showa kanoe-inu year (1970), a lucky day in early winter
