Came with this Type 3

Recently picked up this type 3 which I will post more info on at a later date.

But this Aikuchi also came from  the same source ,both sword and knife are completely untouched and both have that been there feel about them .

My question is the knife WW2 manufacture and what is the reason behind the eyelet at the top of the handle ?

I think the eyelet is for a lanyard.  It this case, it would go around the wrist.

Have been looking for a type 3 in a leather covered saya it’s totally in untouched condition with its cloth sarute which as been on the sword for ever plus it still as it’s two original screws ..

Nice find!  The leather cover on the saya is great, not very common to come across in this model.

Those caps on the saya cover are rare. Mostley they have gone.

The tassle is washed out  everything matches the condition  of the sword ..

I love the sarute on this!  Looks personally made out of canvas or something similar.

He is listed in the RJT list, but yours is the first Naganori blade I've actually seen and recorded.  Bragging rights!
