Hi Nick,

I've looked long and hard at it and I keep coming back to the obvious one: Sukesada

I think that the "mouth" part of the right hand radical for Suke isn't clearly done and that the placement of the strokes in the left hand radical makes it look a bit like the halberd 戈 which sent me in the wrong direction. I can't find any kanji with this radical and the left hand one礻which is clearly part of the Suke kanji. Anyhow, that's my logic. :freak:

I agree. Suke was my guess because it was the closest I could find. But I’m far from good at translating kanji, let alone kanji with 500 years of rust build up. Thank you for your help.
