Japanese Short Sword (Wakizashi) by Yasukuni

Recommended Posts

This is an antique short sword (wakizashi) in a plain wooden scabbard (shira-saya) and a one-piece copper blade collar (habaki). This sword is by Yasukuni of Mushashi Province. He worked during the Genroku Era (1688-1703 CE) and is ranked as a master swordsmith (Jo-Saku) in Fujishiro Index of swordsmiths. It comes with a NBTHK Hozon paper. A full English translation of the NBTHK apparel paper is available upon request. The cutting-edge length of the blade (nagasa) measures 20.2 inches (50.6 cm) long. Overall, the condition of blade is excellent in an art polish with a few very minor scratches.  Asking price is $3,500 USD but will consider reasonable offers.
