The Akimoto family in Yamagata province retained Naotane around 1812.

Nice example of an older blade re-mounted for the war.  Good luck with the sale.

Once again thank you so much for the kind words of encouragement Bruce.

Hopefully it will find a good home soon.

$3800.00 CAD = $3026.88 USD. For potential buyers in the U.S. Good luck with the sale Steven! Definitely looks like a quality piece.

Thanks for the complements and the exchange info.

I've been having a problem with PayPal taking a larger exchange cut and then buyers having to pay again when asking for the price in US and coming up short so this way they can see they are sending me exactly what I want in Canadian instead for the US dollar being up or down as well as PayPal exchange being different than The Bank Of Canada.

Hopefully someone will grab it soon before I have second thoughts and keep it.

Soon I won't need the money anymore due to payment coming for another sword and I'll probably pull it.

Most of the blades by this smith sell for more than $1 000 000 Yen on AOI sword museum and those sales were many years ago.

Cheers

This may help a few peoples decision or ...not ?

The file marks on both sides are next to identical.

The ending of the date the last 3 kanji is notched the same size and direction kanji size ect.

The name is fairly similar however if you look at all the papered swords from this smith on AOI they do differ a lot from each other due to different schools and timeframes.

If this sword were papered it wouldn't be for sale.

Wether I sell this sword or not It will be coming down soon due to my window of buying a sword I want.

Thanks for viewing everyone.

Last call is $3000 Canadian
