Looking to get help with these Symbols

Try 大原真守

Ohara Sanemori

Whoever incised these characters probably got low marks at school in brush-writing, calligraphy.

”Good try but needs more attention. 3/10"

Later. I had a look in Fujishiro under Koto, and there is an example Mei on p.446 there which looks rather similar. In light of this I would like to amend my comment above. :) Some smiths had great writing, some didn't, and some got someone else to cut their signature for them.

I appreciate the extra effort, looking this up. I was in agreement with your statement about needing more attention to detail with cutting this signature. I am glad to know there is a potential sample Mei. Did your research turn up a date range for this particular smith? My cursory glance this morning didn't turn up date ranges.

It would be nice to see the rest of the sword (judge the sword, not the signature); if an actual koto sword, the nakago has been cleaned, which is most unfortunate. The first nakago ana looks punched, which is in line with koto.
