Latest addition, a large tsuba

Picked up this large katchushi tsuba at a military fair. Normally not the place to found a tsuba. Diameter is 9.5 cm. From my novice point of view it's  beautiful crafted. What do you guys think of this tsuba? Feel free to comment.

Hi Ed, given the size and patina, my first impressions are that it’s modern, but a  nice piece and, as you say, well crafted. I’m sure you’ll get some better informed comments than mine.

Hi John, thank you for your opinion. Highly appreciated. The colors are in reality darker. I was expecting it was made in the Edo period.

Regards, Ed

When mounted on a tachi -- as its ancestors were intended to do -- won't the gorinto(?) be upside down?

Gorinto tsuba always seem to present this way.

Nice Tosho TH one attached.

I've never seen one mounted.
