NTHK Shinsa - Sydney, Australia

Recommended Posts

Personally I can wait but I think dealers and people who want to use the papers to assist in selling pieces may not be so happy. Of course 8 months is unacceptable.

The delay may also make people reluctant to put things into the next shinsa which would be unfortunate.

hi everyone,

GOOD NEWS!! :D

We have just got back from Japan with the oshigata from the Sydney NTHK Shinsa! Yayy!

Apologies for the delays due to problems with the printers that were out of our control. Papers for the fittings and koshirae are still in Japan and are also on the way. Most of you will be receiving your papers by registered post this week. If you have changed address since attending the Shinsa, this would be a good time to let me know as I am mailing out tomorrow. Anyway, I will be in contact by email to all who left email addresses with me.

cheers for now,

Adrian Schlemmer

Adrian, myself and few other Aussies had dinner with Dr Gordon Robson, when he handed over the Origami. He appologised for the length of time that the NTHK took to process the shinsa. As Adrian has stated, there was apparently a problem with the paper supply. The paper for the origami is a special order and supplies ran out. Also as Adrian has stated, the origami for the Kodogu and Koshirae still isn't finished, though Adrian was assured that now that the paper is forthcoming, the rest should be finished soon. Fingers crossed

Thanks everyone for their patience and again, sorry for the delay.

  • 2 weeks later...

I received my NTHK (sword) papers today. The oshigata of the tang/mei is great. I don't know how they do them so quickly on the day. Thanks again to Adrian and the team for organising this shinsa. I very much look forward to the next one.
