Koku ju?

Recommended Posts

When followed by Ju, it means 'living in'.

備前国 Bizen Koku, the Bizen region, Bizen.

備前の国 Bizen no Kuni, the region of Bizen.

See 日本国 Nihon/Nippon Koku, (not Nihon Kuni, although you could imagine a missing の and read it Nihon no Kuni).
