Owari?

I received this guard for free with an auction purchase of several other guards, I don't know why it was included but am not looking a gift horse in the mouth - so to speak. From what little I know of sukashi schools, I was wondering if the style was consistent with Owari mainly from the many curved elements rather than Akasaka which are more linear. The mimi is maru,  the dimensions 74 mm x 70 mm x 4 mm and weighs 95.5 g.   Please feel free to comment thanks.

Dale,

a nice little gift which would have pleased me as well!

The symmetry might indeed lead to think of OWARI, but I then would expect a KAKU MIMI. Some features let me think of later HIGO.

But if Curran doesn't know, who am I to make an assessment?

Well, I haven't given it that much thought. I'm insanely overwhelmed with things on the personal front at the moment.

Still, as someone who focuses mostly on Higo and Owari schools--- it isn't Owari.

I can understand its radial (quad) symmetry mistakenly leading one to Owari, but many other kantei points say =Not Owari.

Kodai Higo isn't a bad attribution, but my initial impression is that it isn't that either. The kogai anna and other points make me want to go off hitting the books to find a 3rd choice.

Not a bad tsuba. Kodai Higo is a slightly lazy but respectable call. If I have time [doubtful, sorry... but life it that demanding right now], I suspect I can come up with a better classification.
