Bugyotsuji Posted April 18, 2021 Report Posted April 18, 2021 Have you seen this? http://masaie.jp/masaoki/ The second photo shows no actual date, just "............... month, a lucky day in." Quote
hobnails Posted April 18, 2021 Author Report Posted April 18, 2021 Thanks piers my Japanese is bad is the smith masaoki? Quote
Bugyotsuji Posted April 18, 2021 Report Posted April 18, 2021 Well yes, but to tell you the truth, I am not 100% sure whether the last kanji should be 奥 (Oki, Oku) or 興 and whether they were interchangeable or indicated different smiths. Both are listed and you can read both Masaoki. The first part of the Mei is missing, but what is left on the nakago is.... Spoiler ....Ju nin Fujiwara Kai Masaoki Saku 住人貝正奥(興)作 Quote
