Iron Habaki

Hello,
I wanted to show you my Habaki. I have never seen one before like this and the special thing is that the habaki is made of iron.

Have you texted it with a magnet? I  collect iron habaki. Your looks quite different thrash mine (2).

Yep, I tested it with a magnet and scratched it a bit from the inside with a nail to check the color of the material.

Yes this is cool!  Something about the style of decoration and the cross hatched ground preparation for the nunome suggests to me that this is not entirely Japanese.  Is this an isolated piece or does it form part of  koshirae?

Hi Geraint, the habaki is mounted on a wakizashi with very high quality koshirae. :-)
