Sword- Ino Inaba no kami hiroshige

Recommended Posts

I have this sword given to me from my dad/uncle that was my grandpa's from the war. I basically was wondering if any one had more information about the sword. I want to leave it to my son.

Hi Ryan,

Good to see you here and welcome to the group. As we discussed on FB, the mei is Inaba (no) kami Hiroshige (rather than Ino Inaba...). See the attached write-up from Sesko's reference.

Separately, the shape is typical of Kanbun shinto swords (from the time period below).

Best regards,

Ray

Looks very restorable. Oil well and wrap in tightly rolled newspaper. Saya is no longer protective. Maybe keep in hard gun case or stiff tube.

Blade looks very stout! Do you have any dimensions? Thanks for sharing.

How should I measure it?
