katana Polished Koto Katana in Shirasaya - possibly Bizen

I'm selling a polished Koto Katana from my collection.

 

The  blade shinogi-zukuri with iori-mune and ko-kissaki.  ubu nakago mumei with single mekugi-ana, katte-sagari yasurime and ha-agari kuri-jiri.

 

No doubt a Koto periode blade.

 

I would think likely attribute dto Bizen or maybe Bungo whens ent for Shinsa.

 

Itame-gokoro hada thgat ius becoming masame in places with nice and vivid gunome hamon that features some sunagaeshi in nie.

 

Very healthy ko-maru boshi with hakikake and kaeri.

 

House in a Honki Shirasaya.

Dimensions

Nagasa: 66.5 cm; Moto-haba: 2.9 cm; Saki-haba: 1.6 cm

 

Price Euro 3200.00 inlcuding worldwide shipping or personal pick up possible.

Since it has been asked: There is a vertical scratch in the Shinogi near Kissaki (not a forging flaw)

Louis out of curiosity can you please tell me what makes you think its likely a scratch caused by another sword?

Sorry, but this does not look Bizen to me.....Bungo is a different call to Bizen

Nice sword Luis, especially the bright and thick Habuchi which really stands out.

 

Reminds me of Bungo too, i gues its the nakago that has you leaning towards Bizen too maybe ?, perhaps a good clear shot of the nakago the right way up might help.

 

Seen it written that many Bungo swords resemble Bizen closely.

 

One for Shinsa should it bother the buyer enough.

A more valuzed oppinion than mine would be to send the blade to a Shinsa if a new buyer wishes to. I can gurantee that the blade wikll paper / achieve Hozon. My images are poor as this was quick listing when I had intended to fund another purchase. I may relist the sword with better images
