These a only "scratches", no mei. The restauration was made from a well known member here in the board, but he didn't want to tell who he was, because his work list is to long.

I would not have thought it possible.  Did you get a photo before you received it back or did you have to pick yourself up off the floor when you opened the box?

Thanks Alex. Whether it was financially worthwhile is another matter. So i hope that this is not a good example to follow, espacially for new collectors. 

I spare a little by not to restore the fire gilding. That would be to much investing.

Like the others, I'm truly amazed at the restoration, Chris. Can you give a range of the cost, compared to a togi's polishing?

Oh thats hard Ken. I gave 4 Tsuba to restore and we made a package price. So i can't tell you how much this tsuba was. The others were kinko and to of them gets a lot of hours of care. The best is you ask. Normal work on patination is around 200 Dollar i think more or less. But with extra wishes it goes up. What i learned is that there is a lot of work in patination.
