Is this sword ok

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I have an opportunity to get this sword as part of a trade. I have not examined it in hand but judging by the photos it appears to be in nice condition. I am far from an expert when it comes to nihonto. All I know is that it is in wartime mounts, but appears to be a true nihonto. I guess I'm just looking for further information and if you guys think it looks like a decent blade. Thanks any information would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Brodie, yes it is a very nice one, traditionally made during the war by the looks of it as well. Show us the mounts if you can too.

Great specimen in excellent condition... keep it!   Opportunities like that don't come along every day.

Excellent condition, traditionally made sword from Seki, made in wartime and beautiful. Nothing to worry about.
