Help with sake cup identification

Hi,

Recently purchased from Japan. Advertised as 17-18th century Oribe ware, which I do not think realistic, but it was rather cheap and the colors are just great, different hues of green, blue, brown, white and yellow.

Worth using for sake anyway.

It came in a vintage looking box wrapped in old paper, but I am not sure if it is original to the cup, maybe just used for storage.

So, what do you think is this. Looks old, but how old?

Thank you,

Vadim

I want to keep it short. Post photo of the box as well. Cup might be old, 100? Check carefully for ships or cracks. Other than that nice cup.

Fwiw; looks like Mino ware, shino type ash (feltspar), glazing. Clay doesn't tell me much. Rinse it first as these glazes can trap materials inside and this cup has definately seen use (which is in no way a bad thing/sometimes even preferred).

The paper comes from before the war. It has the name and address of a newspaper on it, and the newspaper was merged with another newspaper and changed names in late 1941

松陽新報
島根県簸川郡出西村大字求院
出雲国直江向下
大字求院

Shōyō Shinpō  (← name of newspaper)

(everything that follows the newspaper name is an address, located in Shimane prefecture)

Shimane-ken Hikawa-gun Shussai-mura Ōaza-Gui
Izumo-kuni Naoe mukaishimo
Ōaza Gui
