This is clearly a Muromachi jidai Seki Kanefuse katate uchi which has been shortened.........

 

No, seriously whatever opinion you get from these photographs is pretty much shooting the breeze.  If you can determine in hand what you reckon to be the original nagasa before suriage then you have a shout but otherwise....?

Jon,

I think some good sharp photos of the NAKAGO without HABAKI would help making an assessment. In addition, you should give all measurements, but it will remain difficult to make a KANTEI in this state of polish..

No, that is too optimistic. It is about 12% only.

 

I am not sure but the KISSAKI seems to have been altered. The blade (length? width? KASANE?) looks like a stout one, and the NAKAGO says KOTO to me, slightly MACHI OKURI.
