Can someone please point me in the right direction on information about this smith?

I cannot find any mention of him anywhere.

Thank you all very much,

Tom

Dear Tom

I think this smiths name is read Norimitsu (same kanji different reading)

His real name is Yasumoto Tokusada and worked as a rikugun-jumei-tosho

With out the star stamp is this still considered a Gendaito?

Tom,

A little late in answering, but that would depend on the blade itself.  If you want to post pics of the hamon, mid-section and blade tip, guys could give you an estimation.  RJT smiths did make custom blades and they also made blades outside the Army system, sold to dealers and shops.  So it is possible the blade is gendaito.
