The story of Baron Sannomiya Yoshitane

The famous Baron gave the swordsmith Horii Taneyoshi a working place on his private house in Takanawara, Tokyo. Taneyoshi was a pupil of Gassan Sadayoshi and learned also under Taikei Naotane. The Baron learned to forge Nihonto and created many swords.

He signed his swords with MAMORU which means Guard, before gave the swords as gifts to his friends.

His widow gave a tanto to Mr. Mosle; perhaps this tanto do still rest in a collection.
