Description: Excellent book full of beautiful pictures and information about Japanese sword fittings and other metalwork. 676 items (90% sword fittings) with details on artists, period, motifs, materials, etc.  Cloth covered Hardback 9.25” X 12.25” with 168 pages; Perfect Condition (New in original box - never opened except to take pictures for this listing). Presents one of the finest collections of Japanese Metalwork outside of Japan from the past Century.  English text (with additional short descriptions in Japanese). Most of the 676 items are Japanese sword fittings (Tosogu, Koshirae, Tsuba, Kozuka & Fuchigashira); also includes a few swords, netsuke, etc..  Each item is described in terms of materials, subject mater, artist, etc. and all items include a photograph - usually black & white for iron and color for soft metal fittings.  Mr. Hartman collected many of these sword fittings from other famous collections.  Includes a printed list of price estimates and an online link to the realized prices for each item.

I honestly want you to be happy with this purchase, so if the item is not as described or there is any other material problem, please let me know.  I’ll do my best to be fair in all cases.  Having said that, because of the many misunderstandings that can arise with online sales (as we have seen on several recent threads...), the following terms and conditions will exclusively apply to any bids, offers and sales.  Sales are final, no returns unless the item is not materially as described.  Shipping charges, paypal/wire transfer fees, VAT, import duties, taxes and similar charges are not included in the item price. These charges are the buyer’s responsibility and expense.  Please check with your country’s customs office to determine what the additional costs will be prior to bidding/buying.  The tax and duty charges are normally collected by the delivering freight (shipping) company or when you pick the item up - do not confuse them for additional shipping charges.  I do not mark merchandise values below value, mark items as “gifts” or falsify government documents - US and International government regulations prohibit such behavior.  Consequential damages are disclaimed, and in all events, seller’s total aggregate liability shall not exceed the price of the goods in question.  Descriptions are given in good faith but without warranty or liability - please see pictures for conditions (product is sold “as is”). I will ship using the most reasonable method (at purchaser’s expense) unless purchaser provides other explicit shipping/insurance instructions (in any event, all shipping is at purchaser’s risk).  Purchaser is deemed to have agreed with these terms by bidding or agreeing to purchase (any other terms or conditions requested by the purchaser are rejected unless agreed to in a signed writing by seller).
