Presents one of the finest collections of Japanese Metalwork outside of Japan from the past Century. English text (with additional short descriptions in Japanese). Most of the 676 items are Japanese sword fittings (Tosogu, Koshirae, Tsuba, Kozuka & Fuchigashira); also includes a few swords, netsuke, etc.. Each item is described in terms of materials, subject mater, artist, etc. and all items include a photograph - usually black & white for iron and color for soft metal fittings. Mr. Hartman collected many of these sword fittings from other famous collections. Includes a printed list of price estimates and an online link to the realized prices for each item.
