barnejp Posted November 22, 2018 Report Posted November 22, 2018 Hi Everyone, Translation help needed on this nakago Was told it is Hiromasa. And likely dated around mid 1500's. Apparently, the tsuba is of some interest. Thank you, Greg Quote
TETSUGENDO Posted November 22, 2018 Report Posted November 22, 2018 Tsuba appears to be a 19th century 'revival' piece. -S- Quote
Ray Singer Posted November 22, 2018 Report Posted November 22, 2018 I wrote to Greg directly with the same thoughts on the tsuba. Late Edo, intended to reflect Nobuie. Quote
TETSUGENDO Posted November 22, 2018 Report Posted November 22, 2018 Indeed, like many of the revival pieces the rendition is modified by the 'eye' of the time, producing something that is best described as Nobuie 'flavored'. The other end of the 'revival' pieces are those that check every box+, if you will....those that are 'too good to be true'. -S- Quote
