Is The Shape Of This Blade Fairly Rare - Double Sided

This is not an ad as the sword is on hold but it is a beauty and although I have seen a couple of blades with this pattern nit very many. It

would seem to be a pretty efficient cutting instrument with cutting edges on both sides apart from having pretty impressive hamon.

You will find lots of utsushi of this legendary sword mainly shinshinto or gendai. I have seen also a daisho of these swords.

'Little crow' construction. A copy of a blade made by Amakuni in the early Heian period. Many smiths have forged blades in this style.

If i remember cottectly there was a nice one of these for sale here sometime in the last couple years but having a mental blanc as to who made it. Im sure the smiths name started with m. Frustrating. Someone else here will probably remember more.

In my old memory bank, I seem to recall that this shape in WW2 was called a 'Generals sword', but could be wrong!

Most (if not all) gensuito are in kogorasu maru zukuri. I've never seen one that wasn't, but I don't want to assume that there aren't any exceptions.
