Kevin Adams
Evening all! I've just finished up a small series of tsuba as a way to dive back into the work after my return to Canada from England (more about this in my blog this evening). The motif of the barn swallow typically signifies summer, which is their breeding period in Japan. This piece is a study of an antique Akasaka piece, which I chose in order to work with the gentle curves of the wings and tails. I’ve broken with “typical” Akasaka styling by adding eyes to some of the birds in 24k gold dot inlay. 76.5mm x 78.5mm x 4.2mm. Steel plate with copper sekigane and 24k gold inlay, comes with a custom-fitted kiribako. $850USD plus shipping and PayPal fees, if applicable. Thanks for looking! Kevin Adams
Still for sale! Surely there's somebody out there who loves diving swallows? I've started making preparations for the new studio space, selling these pieces would go a long way towards smoothing that transition. $750USD + shipping and Paypal fees.
