Nice little waki Johnathan, Not sure ive heard of laquered paper ito but its very interesting. I would have thought it was leather if I didnt read your post. All the best.

Think this is a great deal.

 

GF im having a tsuka wrapped with such, not paper per se, more of a fiber, its folded over,

 with a inter core, hope i have right photos. lacquered when done, and told it will out last leather.

Hi,

you've an interesting old sword, but are you sure that is an ō-kissaki? For me remember a shōbu zukuri tsukurikomi.  :)
