ilikesword
Up for sale is an ultra rare Southern Manchurian Railway WW2 TACHI. These were usually made for special occasions and there are only a few left in existence. The hangers (Ashikanamono) bear the the company mark of the Manchurian Railway. The fittings have matching serial numbers (#134). The clean blade is signed: Koa Isshin Mantetsu Saku Kore. Dated: Showa Kanoto Mi Haru. (1941). I’ll be listing this on eBay in a few days, if there is no interest here. It will be listed under the Ebay name bguardj. Price is $8500.00 Pictures at : http://s1007.photobucket.com/user/bguar ... su%20Tachi Password: koaisshin Nagasa: 26 ¼”

Eric Santucci
Hi Edwin, Nice sword. I have the same question as Chris, as that is a rather unique ito color for that time period. Also, I am unable to view the photos (yes, I entered the password and enabled cookies). The screen never loads any pics and is just static. If you can please PM me or post with more info/details, I would appreciate it. Thanks, Eric
ilikesword
Thank you for the questions. I don't know if the Ito color is origional. This is how I got it. From doing research on the Internet I've seen 2 other Manchurian Railway Tachi, each with a different color Ito.

cabowen
With a regular mantetsu to going for nearly $10K in Japan, I think this was a very good price. No doubt the buyer could sell in Japan for a lot more...Heck, I was tempted-if I didn't have a few too many other irons in the fire....
Stephen
I foresee a lot of plane Mantesu showing up in tachi mounts....soon.
cabowen
I was put off by the ito which to me didn't appear original. I could be wrong, but that was my first impression....
