Translation of tang markings appreciated

Attached are the tang markings of a WWII era Katana I purchased today. I would appreciate if someone could translate it for me. If you have any info on the blade smith that would also be appreciated. I hope the pictures are adequate. My camera is not doing well.

Probably Mano Masayasu from Aichi Prefecture. WWII blade.

His family name is Mano...see Slough p.108.

Often has 1, 2, or 3 little punch marks on tang...has a brother also (forget name). Search the board under his name, I'm sure we have discussed him before.

Can anyone tell me why this sword has two characters and most others by this smith have many more?

Most smiths signed with nijimei (2 character mei) at some time...not sure why.

The less kanji, the less time. They were making these in most cases for the military use and they got paid by the blade.
