Thank you. Sorry about the duplicates I was directed to this forum after posting the original. I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction to get this authenticated. I was told by someone else that the signature does not look legitimate and would like to get it checked out.

I apologize for my lack of knowledge and correct wording. We found this sword in a storage locker with a lot of other WW2 memorabilia. I was told it could have been made by a famous smith but I have no idea. It wont allow me to add any more pictures. Overall measurement is 34.5 inches
