  2. Wanted to stop in and show off a new koshirae Robert Hughes just finished up for my Shigenobu blade .

Ray Singer helped find the matching fittings and suggested the tensho style koshirae .

It turned out way better than i had imagined it .

    Thanks guys !

    Amazing job ! !

  3. You have to decide if the blade is worth the money you will spend on fittings and having the

    koshirae built .

First thing is finding the fittings you want to see on the sword that have a matching theme ,

then pack up the blade and fittings and send them to the builder .

Second thing is time and money , $2-2500 and up for someone to make and put together the koshirae and 6 -12 months to finish .

  4. Funny thing happened on the way to koshirae this week .

Normally a kogatana does not have to be registered when coming into Japan .

This week though , if the kogatana is in shirasaya when it arrives at check in it is considered a sword and needed to be registered even though it was under 13cm .

If it had arrived with no shirsaya and just wrapped in something or installed in the kozuka and wrapped up it would not need to be registered 😕
