  1. I don't know is mine Nagamichi or Kotetsu... It's the one I scratched with the uchiko Grrrrr.. John
  2. Well, schill bidding is definitely possible but let's not forget he has had lots of spectacular blades for sale during his time so I presume his satisfied customers are driving the prices up also but that's unproven so far. Ebay wouldn't tolerate consistent schill bids as they monitor it all. Mr Maruyama has been good to us but that with the polished down blades completely out of geometry which in turn are a total nightmare for a togishi and all the other minor details are something I can't explain.. Is it to preserve or .. to destroy.. no clue John
  3. Great. That way I can send some funds to the forum as well! John
  4. Interesting so why are they comparing their works and names? John
  5. Like a master and a pupil similar ?? I have an aizu nagamichi but mine has a some spectacular inazuma all over. It is hard to tell in your photos. Beautiful nonetheless John

  7. I highly encourage it John
  8. That'd purely be a speculation Suriage (cut down) Bo hi added way later IMHO Definitely mid 1600's Hizen Kuni Ju Omi Daijo Fujiwara Tadahiro Would be my uneducated guess John
  9. I believe it is in need of restoration. Until then, feel free to purchase choji oil and just gently tap it all over the blade. You won't do harm, just good John
  10. Hizen Kuni Ju ? John

  13. NEVER seen such horimono John
  14. Love the gloves:) John
  15. Thank you kindly. As I mentioned once, I want to do it to honor the blades and give peace of mind to the potential buyers. NTHK in August will be the starting point although one of the muromachi papered blades apparently got moved to Nambokucho...reliable or not, I wouldn't speculate. my buddy had NTHK muromachi that NBTHK moved to Nambokucho... who knows...but having a paper is way better than not having one. John
  16. Great advice and direction. I believe if you inquire in proper Japanese with details about the certificate number, date of issue and member's name you might have a chance. Otherwise .. money pit - agents, fees, shipping, stress etc... John
  17. Thank you , great example. I am sure ours has been shortened however the hada is very very different than the Senjuin example. Again, I am new to this and I am sure most of the knowledgeable folks here already know what it is .. as what Tom mentioned, if the papers get confirmed as school or same lineage it'd be the cherry on top of the cake John
  18. That's a big relief. Thank you Grey John
  19. I appreciate that. 10 is what we have decided to let go. Photos will be available but as Ray Singer pointed out (per Bonhams) we dont really need them - serious results John
  20. Me and my imaginary friends 😛 John
  21. Thank you. I only hope they go in good hands. At the end I learned quite a bit about the process and headaches involved, fluctuations of prices, NTHK VS NBTHK and many other details about the forum and its members. Not bad for the short period of being a tiny part of it all. I appreciate very much. P.S. Apparently of have been through the hands of Bonhams. I wonder whether they kept photos of the certificates. Would they be able to release? Last, would NBTHK would be able to find a certificate based on the number and description of the blade. They can, that I know. I wonder whether they'd be willing to 😬 John
  22. My numbers are Based on recent sales. One of my buddies bumped onto a heavy collection that cost him chump change as well, that however doesn't mean they aren't worth the money. Plus aoi museum gives me a good idea of a price range so I'll just stick to that. If not, there are lots of auction houses that can assist with the sale of the articles we have approved to let go. And if not, then we'll do our best to keep fresh choji oil on them until they find their next proprietors so we are not really worried that much. The greatest part is - most are near mint, papered and healthy. We are thankful for that - period John
  23. Not sure what that means all of them are available for the right pocket. One has to think, what are the odds of bumping into such quality 🤔 John
  24. That would be them. Off topic, they are available for sale also John
  25. Well, this one is my main hope for high result so to speak. It is still huge (~77cm), not too much suriage, signed with all traits of the early Mino school. August will determine whether that is true or just intellectual meandering on my part. I hope I pass but my gut tells me, I'll be happy. I have 9 that will be listed in orderly fashion soon, most not from the discussions and the list Ray Singer retrieved from the past owner's discussions. I truly hope some forumite pulls the trigger so I can submit my fair share to the board's budget. Jussi do you believe this is matsukawa hada, it is attributed to Yamato Shizu?! Thank you John
