Hi Ray,
I've never seen one at a show. I was wondering if one came up for a shinsa, in past twenty years. Also, was it in ito-maki koshirae mounts or shira saya. I would love to see one in mounts, if anyone has a pic. Thank you for your enlightenment.
Regards,
Tom D.
Am i looking at a ko-Bizen sword? It's not koshi-zori, width should be narrow, ubu nakago has no funbari nor ko kissaki or is it ko maru with slight return. Don't care for the bonji, either. Now, I must say that i could be wrong, am i? I have held five Ko-Bizen blades and owned three. IMHO. Thank you.

I RECALL WHEN SWORD SHOWS BACK IN THE 70'S AND 80'S, YOU HAD TO CRAWL OVER EACH OTHER. I EVEN SAW A COLLECTOR I WON'T MENTION WHO, CRAWLED UNDER LEGS TO GET HIS HANDS ON A KAMAKURA BLADE.
THOSE WERE THE DAYS MY FRIEND WHEN SHOWS WERE A JUNGLE. THE BEST SWORDS YOU'VE EVER SEEN. TO LEARN 1/10TH OF NIHONTO WILL TAKE 10 YEARS, AND IN THIRTY YEARS YOU CAN COMMIT YOURSELF TO AN ASYLUM, NEXT TO ME. THIS IS JUST TONGUE AND CHEEK, MAYBE?

Sword shows 40 - 45 yrs ago, I remember well, 90% attendees were Americans in their 30's and 40's. I saw a dealer from Texas getting out of a cab with ten gun cases loaded with 100-150 swords. He ran full page Buying ads in the Shotgun News. Gunto swords were $50.00 to $75.00. It seems to me they are (most desired) the stars of today, go figure. Darcy is 100% correct.

Hi Rei,
Have you any idea what it will cost for a polish and saya? I would send pic of the whole nakago to the NBTHK for their opinion, before any action.

last picture of boshi was definitive, you "have got" a winner. Nice gendai, It will be interesting if you get origami? Also, I appreciate getting the stinger.
