Awesome. Thank you both. I'll post more pics. The blade is pretty tarnish and pitted. Maybe y'all can tell me more with better pics.

Also I have no desire to sell this sword. Its something I want to pass on some day. It would be nice to have some info on it when that day comes.

Hi I'm new to this forum and new to owning Japanese swords. My grandfather passed away leaving me a bring back Japanese sword. I'd love to learn more about it. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you Bobby
