  1. When you want to visit the Samurai Art Museum make sure that you have enough time. If you want to see everything not in a hurry you will need one day , minimum! Especially in the Kodogu secttion, on the upper floor , you can see very good quality and it is worth for a closer look. Also the Tensho Koshirae (Juyo ! ) In the Kodogu section is worth to study.
  2. Mumei Blades are one side of the medal..........but even more important is it for signed Kodogu and for signed blades in the high end level ! It can be very risky to put a lot of money in signed objekt of art without any guarantee that the Signatur is OK. In the moment the only Papers which are more or less acceptable are the papers of the NBTHK.........in the high end level. But like Stefes87 wrote : You pay a considerable load of dollars (especially for non-USD earners), the item disappears for a while, then it may come back with a paper that has been produced by an un-known quantity, using an un-known reference source (how old, how complete, how updated?). This exactly what i was something thinking by myself. You want to know why it get not a paper or the item is rejected..as a fake.....Who can you ask ? Especially if you are a foreign collector................for blades it is maybe possible to ask Tanobe sensei........and for kodogu ? Who is in the Shinsa ? What is the profession of the members in the Shinsa ? Are they all studied and graduated Experts in their field ?
  3. I know someone near Munich who will be very happy with his tsuka. That looks very nice.
  4. PM send ..........
  5. Georg , Super ! Das wäre dann definitiv ein absolutes Highlight diese Klinge in der realen Welt zu sehen. Ich freue mich jetzt schon..... Es gibt nur ein kleines "aber " Ich schreib dazu noch eine PM an Dich.
  6. Look closer.....these craftmen are not bladesmith ! They are working on habaki and , hard to see for me , Tsuba ....I believe.

    Goto workshops

    I got mine last week.
  8. I've had the tsuba for a few years...but it's only now that I see that there are no scratches but rather two marks. Should wear my glasses more often. I think I see Toshi Hisa here...what do you think? Best Didier
  9. A wakizashi, in March 23 given to shinsa for Hozon/Tokubetsu-Hozon. I get the positiv result (Tokubetsu-Hozon) four weeks ago. Maybe they need more time because there is a deep research necessary ?
  10. Hmmm... it seems that you are right, thank you for your help. Unusual writing of this sign..........that's why I was confused. Unfortunately I found no information about a smith who might have use this "Name " with this Kanji. Anyway, the blade, a short Naginata-blade, is in a very bad condition. It make no sense to show it here.
  11. Hello , i need help with the signature. The first sign i read "Moto" but the second one , I have no idea. Kind regards

    3 cheap iron tsuba

PM send for Tsuba 2 and 3.
  13. I got mine last weekend. If you compare that to other options, it looks the best. Iam very satisfied 😌
  14. Sorry, but the question was how to mount an oshigata. It wasn't required that the oshigata should be able to be dismantled again......or did I not understand something correctly? I have the oshigata for privacy reasons blurred. ........and yes i am the legal owner of the oshigata.
  15. I use glue from a spray can. First I glued the ochigata onto a sheet of white paper, then onto the roll......that was it. It is a good idea to practice using the spray glue on old newspapers before attempting the ochigata. (The oshigata was blurred by me on the pc)
  16. Hello to everyone, Does someone have a serious source for information about Sendai Kinko / Kodogu ? From time to time you find kodogu with a attribution to Sendai Kinko . I want to learn more about it. Books / websites with pictures will be great.
  17. I get blades and Kodogu with UPS from Japan to Germany without problems or delays. It take 10 days for a blade and everything was fine.
  18. Send it to a shinsa in Japan and ask the real experts..........everything else is useless. No-one here , or in another Internet forum is able to give you a 100% serios answer if the blade is genuine work from this smith or not. Of course you can get o lot of personal opinions .........or you try what " Jean " write ......but the only serious way is over Japan and a shinsa team of serious experts in Japanese swords. And this is my own personal opinion 😄
  19. The only positive aspect of a "Hozon" paper with no information is : It is the opinion of the NBTHK that the objekt in the paper in genuine! So not a Chinese or another fake ! Sound funny , I know.....but I had a hard lesson learnd with a tsuba several years ago. I thought it was a old good original one.......no bullshit . It was a modern copy ....made as looking old. Just my two cent.....
