  1. One more picture showing the depth of the carving.
  2. Thank you Steven and Jeremiah for the kind words. Jeremiah, yes the tsuba definitely is a nice contrast to the other two. Steven, yes it looks that way!
  3. Hello, here are a few new fittings that I've added to my collection. The f/k and tsuba are papered to Owari Kinko and Tosho respectfully.
  4. Thank you for the information, I'll still check them out to see any similar examples to study.
  5. Yes, I plan to buy a few books that Rivkin and Pete mentioned.
  6. I do not know that it is Mino, ultimately that is up to the NBTHK. I agree though, the wear on the high points shows good age.
  7. I've got some studying to do with this one.
  8. Thank you Pete and Rivkin, I'll check them out.
  9. Hello, any tips for the best reference books on Mino tosogu? Ideally, one that spans from Ko-Mino through to "edo" Mino. Thank you

Agreed, owning one is essentially the highlight of a collection. A netsuke that previously in my collection that David has for sale on his site shows Raymond Bushel with his famous masatsugu crane in the background.
  12. Those are some great examples.
  13. That actually is the identical one, just lightly restored.
  14. Mauro, yes thats a great tsuba. A good one to study alongside.
  15. The only similar "school" tsuba is a smaller brass one.http://www.shibuiswords.com/haynesTsu104.html
  16. Thank you Geraint, agreed those are stunning.
  17. Definitely not a bad list of possible options.
  18. I'll try to do some digging myself, thank you.
  19. Both would be great resources.
  20. Geraint, yes that'd be great.
  21. Before discussing, I just wanted to say thank you again to Curran for the seamless transaction, I can't recommend him enough. The tsuba in question has hozon papers to the ichijo school and is done in the classic snowflake theme. I've done research on these but have not found much. If anyone has more info to add, I'd love to discuss it.
