  1. All, Thank you for the comments and input. Bruce, Thank you for the date analysis - a 1940 date certainly looks plausible with the way you laid it out. This would line up with Moriwaki's appointment to the Shrine in 1940. All considered, I am thinking about having this piece polished and having shirasaya made. Would be curious to get others opinions on that. Thanks to all that looked, and especially those who've taken the time to provide their opinions - very much appreciated. Steve
  2. As promised, here are additional photos. As others have stated, I believe the date is 1936, which is before Moriwaki was appointed as a master smith for the Kikusui Tanto Kai. The Kikusui appears to be hand-done, but has good detail. Hopefully these photos help - I've tried to capture the activity; however, we don't have the best natural light here this morning. Steve
  3. I did receive it, but have not had time to take photos for the group due to work. As soon as I get some spare time, I'll post photos - hopefully today or tomorrow. Thanks! Steve
  4. Update: Just received a FB message from Michael with a photo of the shipping receipt. Delivery is due to me by this Friday - I'll keep this thread updated. Special thanks to Ray Singer for his input and assistance on this issue. Regards, Steve
  5. Hello, All. I am the buyer of this sword; unfortunately, I do not have it in-hand to provide any more detail or information on it. I paid for said sword on Friday, October 22, 2021 and, to date, the seller, Michael Dumas, has not shipped the sword and continues to provide reasons why it has not been shipped. I have opened a claim with PayPal, as I paid via Goods & Services (highly recommended for dealing with unknown entities), and I have until the 16th of this month to escalate the claim. For anyone else that has been approached by this seller, I would recommend taking a look at my experiences herein and proceeding accordingly. Needless to say, a very aggravating situation to be in. I will gladly provide updates as the situation changes. Regards, Steve
