  1. Thank you Bruno. I would like to discuss some of the lots as I think they were interesting. The prices amaze me to some degree. Either the winners just had way to much money but usually having money money will go hand in hand with being a smat person so I assume the wonners knew what they were doing? https://www.tessier-sarrou.com/lot/113434/14911278? On this lot I had thought the Tsuba to be very interesting. Looked like it was early Kino work. Nambokuchi periode? Juyo Quality? Hirasto school mounts otherwise? The blade I did not see any importance. I would tend to something like Muromachi or Shinto Kaga. https://www.tessier-sarrou.com/lot/113434/14911284? Amazing! I would say this is pretty sure Gimei? Personally I liked the Koshaire of this one very much: https://www.tessier-sarrou.com/lot/113434/14911290?
  2. There were some really great Koshirae! Is there a way to see the results?
  3. Sellers says Japanese but I have the feeling it is Chinese work. Not bad work imho but does not look Japanese to me. Also - while I can not really read them - I would not have confidence it is a Japanese signature? What do you think?
  4. I would appreciate help with the translation on these Tsuba signatures please. Thank you
  5. you forgot the premium .... probably well below retail. some decent ones ... also you forgot the dragon ones included
  6. I did not bid but wonde what others would have to say about it https://www.ebay.com/itm/Antique-Japanese-Signed-Tsuba-Meiji-Bronze-Copper-Octopus-Squid-Relief-Signature-/393183292338
  7. Does anyboy know by which artist this seal is? Thank you
  8. I wonder what others thought this one to be? https://www.ebay.com/itm/324496832240 Later periode Shrine offering? O Suriage of an older blade?
  9. Tahnks you very much! Since he is a rather well known maker I suspect that it is possibly Gimei. If anybody does have any oppinion it much appreciated. Thank you
  10. Yes he is. Highly recommended. A fine gentleman and excellent craftman
  11. Hello John, I can see why you think of Sengo. I had a Sengo vibe, too - where an illegable (later added) Mei may refer to Muramasa? My impression is that the Nakago shape is unaltered but the Mei has been tempered with. The Hamon looks like Hosho Suguha. But it would need to be polished to be able to tell more. For now I was hoping somethone could give some thoughts based on what is visible while I thik that the Nakago shape is teh most distinctive visible feature.
  12. Yes jean Pierre, could well be. But you can find Sori in late Nambokucho era while it would often put a blade into Muromachi.
  13. A well respected fellow collector first suggestes Saiha uppon showing image sof the blade to him due to the huge Sori - until it was polished. He then no longer thought it to have been retempered. The Jigane does not indicate Saiha. The Hamon travels into the Nakago. So it is really Suriage. My own assumption is that it is a cut down Tachi. But then what do I know. That is why I am interested in hearing what other people think. The fact it is Sriage probably further "exagerates" the Sori, giving it overall a somehow ood appearene. Atleast you do not see such a Sori any day, hence I am interested what the blade really is or once was.
  14. Has Hosho Suguha. Mei is ... worn? Illegable? Removed? Gimei? Nambokucho?
  15. I fully understand your reasoning. But the Hamon actually travels back into the Nakago. I do not think that it is Saiha while I see that the huge sori can lead to this reasoning.
  16. Hello Jussi, Nagasa is 50,6 cm. I do not have it with me right now so I can not give additional mesaurements
