It is Denison not Denison so not the museum
I live only a few miles from Coventry so more digging required

Interesting and it is Dennison but no first name
-
I'm looking at some items and the 'Dennison' collection can up
I tried a search but found nothing
Who was he?

The black and white image in the Church collection is better than I thought but I know you have this book
-
Excellent and detailed response - thanks

I agree with comments above but I'm not sure about making an offer
I would go in with say $100 which would be rejected and quite rightly so!
My low offer may annoy the seller so not a good start
Then we do the 'dance' until a value is agreed
An observation about selling
The best sale is when both parties arrive at a price that is agreeable to them both so in effect both parties win

Hi Steve
You don't need Dropbox installed to open this link
Let me know what happens when you open this link
https://www.dropbox....j30r0yy5jvi4t0v&dl=0
It may ask you to install the Dropbox App
You should able to ignore this request and download this file
Good Luck

This should work as it's a dropbox file as it's 27 meg
Maybe there is another way to get it to you

I saw this in hand and it is stunning
The reflection in the water takes your breath away but so difficult to photo. Well done Bob
Been waiting for for Bob to post this one

Thanks Christian
This and the preceding replies will help me a lot. I should be able to learn more from a blade in hand than in books
Shame I don't have someone close to me to discuss this

Thanks Brian
Always nice to get some positive feedback
-
Thanks Kirill
It all helps as I have the blade in hand
I can check out your blade details info
Once this has sunk in I may try posting a different blade
-
Any more help/advice?
-
Thanks Krill
This is what I was hoping for
I can compare the comment by looking at my blade in hand
Any more pointers?
-
Where do you see the utsuri?
-
My knowledge of blades is minimal but I try
I have some decent books but they didn't help much so I must be a slow learner
What do these images tell me?
If anyone wants a guess at the school please have a go. It is a very well known school
Polished in Japan with new shirasaya and habaki and also papered
I've looked it every day for a week but see very little but for one day only the area above the hamon 'popped' and I saw a lot more
I see very little in the hamon area
Any pointers would be appreciated
