  1. Wakizashi hirazukuri with Hozon certificate attributing it to Shitahara Terushige.
Hada is a very well forged standing out mokume, typical of the school.
Hamon is a suguha with bright and tight nioiguchi.
As you can see from the pictures there's a very prominent bo-utsuri, one of the most clear i ever seen, something you'd expect from a good Bizen blade.
There's a single short bohi only on omote side.
An interesting feature, on the nakago there's two bonji done in keribori (same technique used to sign the blades), i couldn't figure out which are those specifically tho.
From the sugata the blade is most likely from the Shodai or the Nidai, in my opinion judging from the nioiguchi is the Shodai.

TERUSHIGE (照重), 1st gen., Eiroku (永禄, 1558-1570), Musashi – “Bushū-jū Terushige saku” (武州住照重作), “Bushū-jū Terushige” (武州住照重), “Bushū-jū Chikashige” (武州住周重), real name Yamamoto Ukon (山本右近), second son of the 1st gen. Shitahara Chikashige (下原周重), Shitahara school, Hōjō Ujiteru (北条氏照, 1540-1590) granted him the character for “teru” (照) whereupon he changed his name from Chikashige to Terushige, it is said that he also took the first name Ukon (右近) with changing his smith name, his former first name was Osato (長門), we know blades from Eiroku to Bunroku (文禄, 1592-1596), wide mihaba and an elongated kissaki, standing-out itame mixed with Shitahara-hada, gunome-midare in nioi-deki with tight nioiguchi and mura-nie
TERUSHIGE (照重), 2nd gen., Bunroku (文禄, 1592-1596), Musashi – “Bushū Shitahara-jū Terushige” (武州下原住 照重), “Bushū Shitahara-jū Yamamoto Genji Terushige” (武州下原住山本源次照重), “Bushū Shitahara-jū Terushige saku” (武州下原住照重作), “Bushū Shitahara-jū Yamamoto Genjirō Terushige” (武州下原住山本 源二照重), real name Yamamoto Genji (山本源次), his changed his first name later to Genzaemon (源左衛門), he also signed with the first name Genjirō (源二郎) and is also listed with the first name Shichirō´emon (七郎右衛門), Shitahara school, we know blades from Bunroku to Genna (元和, 1615-1624), he died on the 14th day of the seventh month Genna nine (1623), posthumous Buddhist name Shin´ō Eishō (真翁永正), he continues the workmanship of the 1st gen. but his nioiguchi is somewhat wider, wazamono, chū-saku

    Nagasa 44.2 cm
    Sori 0.7 cm
    Motohaba 3.0 cm
    Kasane 0.52 cm

Comes with shirasaya and silver foiled habaki.
There's some scratches, but nothing that really affects the enjoyment of the blade.

  2. Wakizashi hirazukuri with unusual bo-hi signed “Nanto-jū Kanabō Hyōe no Jō Masatsugu” (南都住金房兵衛尉政次) in shirasaya.
Hamon is a suguha-based midare with a narrow but bright nioiguchi with sunagashi and a nice nijuba on one side.
Hada is a standing out itame that shows also a shirake utsuri.
    Dimensions are:
    Nagasa 39.0cm
    Sori 0.8cm
    Motohaba 31.3mm
    Motokasane 7.2mm

Kanabo school was based in Nara during late Muromachi, they were renowed for being really effective in battle and especially famous for their yari.
According my studies this should be the work of the shodai:

MASATSUGU (政次), Tenbun (天文, 1532-1555), Yamato – “Nanto-jū Kanabō Hyōe no Jō Masatsugu” (南都住金房兵衛尉政次),
“Nanto Kanabō Hyōe no Jō Masatsugu” (南都金房兵衛尉政次),
Kanabō school, we know blades from the Tenbun to the Kōji era (弘治, 1555-1558),
robust sugata with a wide mihaba, a thick kasane, and an elongated kissaki,
rather standing-out itame mixed with masame and ji-nie, hiro-suguha,
ko-midare or gunome-midare with compact nioiguchi, in addition ashi and yō,
some blades show fine and elaborate horimono in the hitsu, chū-saku

There are some small openings and some scratch, but nothing too bothering. On the mune there are several kirikomi.

    SOLD

  3. NBTHK Hozon certificate doesn't attest anything about the quality of a blade, it just says that it's an authentic nihonto, there are not fatal flaws (unless is an important example or historically valuable piece) and that the signature, if there's one, it's not fake.
Upper levels like Tokubetsu Hozon are also evaluating the conditions of the blade itself.

  5. This tsuba was submitted in "2023 Modern Sword Craftsmanship Exhibition" (2023年度現代刀職展審) and was awarded Nyusen 7th place (入選七席).
There's already a post talking about it here https://www.militaria.co.za/nmb/topic/45392-my-first-attempt-at-nbthk-newly-made-tsuba-contest-2023/

The tsuba is an utsushi of an Akasaka tsuba (https://www.touken-w...-guard/art0000971-1/) which captivated me with its elegant and flowing design.

It represents a torii over a stream of water, which in the case of my tsuba i recognized as the torii over water in Kashima Shrine:

Incidentally i found a similar tsuba at last DTI and had the chance to compare it directly with mine.

The tsuba dimensions are 75x76 mm and it's 5 mm thick

It will come with a box with pillow and hakogaki by me, a tsuba bag and a copy of the diploma from NBTHK.

  6. To throw some fuel to the fire:
    six lobed Kamakura-bori tsuba
    37805074_10216659113933202_4045730923633704960_o.thumb.jpg.1c1e94eb4d4c565858d7b1c25883a72d.jpg37654663_10216659113853200_3337940027152793600_o.thumb.jpg.3670c9f1327cc6abf6769839b94d28f7.jpg

I feel that those lobed tsuba originally might have been simple tosho for kazuuchi-mono, which were also exported, then they got decorate by engravers, some of these maybe outside Japan and somehow made it back through the Dutch
