  1. Im not sure if Bob can save the saya, heres his link. if you have it polished yud want it to go into a shirasaya anyway. Id have him take a look at it, you can trust him to take you down the right path. http://www.bushidojapaneseswords.com/
  2. http://cgi.ebay.com/4064-JP-Samurai-Swo ... %26ps%3D57 the highlight in these would go well with the tsuba, only few hrs left. I seen Aoi had a set of Boar if you wanted to keep it the same, tad pricy at 500.00$
  3. enery ill sign up, just waiting for some of the bugs to be taken care of.
  4. this is from the Rai blade?, nice fittings looks like a restoration project to me, even if gimei its would be nice with new saya and if you could find another boar, or do you have both? how about fuchi and kashira? Often lords would request big names for a blade, like Ted said it needs to be looked at. Id have Bob Benson check it out.
  5. good idea on the nuks, David can repair your tsuka, fix it all, hes very good. if he has to rebild the core its a bit more, and same is replaced and dyed black to match. id leave the leather cover on as thats the way it came. Be sure to read Greys post on how to care for the blade, oiling and ect.
  6. nice find lorenzo, bit high im sure it will be out later on Amazon at lower price. Nice to know there is a longer ver than the one i watched. Ill be looking for the 89.min dvd.
  7. the blade is Masahiro, the stamp is seki stamp. http://home.earthlink.net/~ttstein/masahir4.jpg

  13. perhaps Fukuda? for the first name
  14. I don't care how good a copy it is, why give them business, it just encourages them reinforcing there copying ways

  18. The MON can be alot of things, this is what i went by.
  19. Looks like it was just a added damaged shirasaya to hold the blade
  20. Thanks Matt dont have Fujishiro anymore to see the kanji. I have a feel for a older blade made in 1500's to look like nambokucho any pix out there of sugata with out the tsuka?
  21. Nobody and i worked on this last night, what i gave Chris to give to you is your best bet. As advised id take it to Chi town this weekend. Here is a close up worked up photo by Koichi san, he gives it a very broad 1% chance of 長州道元安吉 – Choshu Dogen Yasuyoshi. it does need to be seen in hand. and show the pix of one flaw that i never recived. pix of kissaki ha/munimachi is also needed.
  22. see page 2-3 then zoom in with mouse, boshi has no turn back,(is so its very small at end) so i think its a older blade. No answer to emails for nakago.
  23. Piers i know this dont count for much, but id leave the drum just like you found it, i like the old look.
  24. as it states that his field mounted blade, this is his higher mounts, if you're close to West Point, go in and ask them to place it on its mune. http://ww2db.com/image.php?image_id=5445
  25. Tad pricey, would love to know what it holds. page 2-5 http://issuu.com/dreamedia/docs/145-to- ... layout.xml
