天下中興開山 – Tenka chuko kaizan (Restoration founder)

正阿弥金十郎 – Shoami Kinjuro

Bunka roku nen (=1809) is not 8^th but 6^th of Bunka.

八幡公所佩貫級刀製 – Imitated kankyuto which was worn by Hachimanko

八幡公 (Hachimanko) means 源義家 (Minamoto no Yoshi’ie).

昭和拾一年霜月上浣 – Showa 11^th year, early Novenber

長壱尺参寸九分 – Length: 1-shaku 3-sun 9-bu

時代　寛永 – Era: Kan'ei

本阿弥宗景 – Hon’ami Sokei

Here is an NBTHK Hozon mumei katana with Okada Jurobei’s kiritsukemei. So, he seems to be a real person, though Kotetsu mei may be questionable.

石原 – Ishihara (family name)

通廣 – Michihiro (smith’s name)

His real name is 石原周造 (Ishihara Shuzo), and he was one of army approved swordsmiths in WWII era.

I guess that Sasaoka is the name of the person who wrote the memo.

若刕冬廣孫藤原繁友作 – Shigetomo who is a descendant of Fuyuhiro in Jakushu (Wakasa) made.

I understand that the seller’s explanation is incorrect. Showa 42 is the year when the sword was registered.

Sato Kanezumi did not make swords after the end of WWII (Showa 20).

...............It is a true TACHI, as the MEI shows. It might not have been used on a battlefield but was perhaps more a representation sword.

The sword has a katana mei.
