  1. Thanks for the help with this, but it remains unclear what it reads.
  2. Thanks, George. I will look for more works by this man. If there is a reference to a painting it would be very interesting to see that work. Ed
  3. Fittings maker's signature which I have not had translated.
  4. Late Edo aikuchi with mixed metal mounts. Blade is koto with later horimono.
  5. Unusual two piece engraved habaki on Hisamichi Wakizashi
  6. WWII Kai-Gunto Naval Officer's Sword with Rising Sun tsuba. The blade is finely forged, but the mekugi is in a position that makes it difficult to remove without damage.
  7. Shirasaya Sayagaki Translation needed. Thanks for looking and for assistance. Ed

  9. This is no keeper...Polish would be nice, but it does have a bend unfortunately. Ed
  10. While it is hard to see much the blade appears to be well made with a strong suguha hamon, but it's really tough to make much elae out. The habaki was what caught my interest.
  11. And thanks again to all for the help with these signatures. Ed
  12. Fast typing fingers coupled with a slow brain often lead to interesting words generated carelessly and sometimes comically across the pages.
  13. The first is a gendaito and looks like Masa Shige (???). The second is two characters on an O-suriage blade and looks like Kane Yuki to me. The second character is thin and hard to see. The gunto mounts are just neat to see signed all over. Thanks for looking and for the help.
  14. JOSHU Ju IMAI KANETSUGU SAKU Gendaito WWII Japanese Army Officer's sword...A very well made blade with a brilliant choji hamon and very good hada. The blade has some old dried grease and had not been cleaned when the photos were taken. A much better quality blade than commonly seen.
  15. It is bronze and about 6 inches long and quite stout. No other markings.
  16. Translation needed for small bronze hand cannon barrel engraving...Thanks for looking. Ed
  17. Sadly, not now. It was a stunning suit.
  18. Thanks for the assist with this Mei. I'll pass this on to the owner. Ed
